Say hello to spring! As we transition seasons, now is a great time to focus on staff wellbeing. With businesses interrupted by lockdowns, and many employees still working at home, it’s important to support your staff and let them know you’re thinking of them. We’ve gathered some of the best tips to help your staff spring into wellness this month.

Wake early to exercise.

If you’re saving time on the usual commute to the office when working from home, why not take advantage of the warmer spring mornings by getting outside before starting your work day? Whether it’s a jog, run or simple walk around the block with your dog, exercising before work can begin your day on a high note and give you a boost of energy.

Stay hydrated.

Australia’s current dietary guidelines don’t recommend a specific amount of water, but simply recommend we ‘drink plenty of water’. During your work day, make sure to drink plenty of water to stay hydrated and avoid fatigue. Why not add a slice of citrus like lemon or orange to give your water some zest?

Spring clean your eating.

Mindfully manage your meals the same way you do when you’re at work, to avoid reaching for those sugary snacks to fuel your day. We’re partial to snacking on fresh fruit (for obvious reasons! 😉) as well as a handful of roasted nuts or the all-natural snack boxes from our friends at Snackwize.

Keep moving.

It can be easy to get in the zone while working and forget to move. But if you’d like to benefit from improved concentration, a sharper memory, enhanced creativity and lower stress then it’s a great idea to keep moving throughout your work day. How may you ask? How about standing up to read a document, walking around the house while talking on the phone or grabbing some fresh air outside during a scheduled break?

Limit your news intake.

Try not to leave the news on in the background or continuously check the headlines online. Instead, try limiting your news content to just once or twice a day, just enough to get the main headlines.

Maintain work-life balance.

Although it can be tempting to think that continuing after your normal work hours can help you “just get ahead” for tomorrow, doing this often can lead to burnout. Instead, try to stick to your usual schedule and spend the time you’d usually commute to and from work doing something you enjoy!

Celebrate the wins.

It’s important to set realistic goals and enjoying the happy hormones that come from achievements in your day to day work life – even if they’re small wins like clearing you inbox!
