Anti-Modern Slavery Commitment

Document Number DN 0036.2

The Fruit Box Group’s commitment towards eradicating slavery from our operations to supply chains follows.

Anti- Modern Slavery Commitment

The Fruit Box Group Pty Ltd (TFBG) is not legally required to submit a formal Anti-Modern Slavery Statement, as we do not meet the mandatory reporting thresholds under applicable legislation (Modern Slavery Act 2018). Nevertheless, TFBG is committed to identifying and eliminating modern slavery risks within its operations and supply chain. This commitment is voluntary and is supported by internal policies and practices, which set out our zero-tolerance approach.

Our principles

We are committed to ensuring that:

  1. All applicable laws and regulations are complied with and do not involve bribery or corruption in any form.
  2. Policies and procedures are maintained to allow violations, misconduct or grievances to be reported by workers and addressed without fear of reiteration.
  3. Employment is freely chosen without the use of forced or compulsory labour.
  4. A zero-tolerance approach is taken to the use of illegal child labour.
  5. All employees are paid a living wage in accordance with applicable laws.
  6. Working hours are not excessive and comply with relevant regulations.
  7. Workers’ rights to lawfully and peacefully form or join trade unions of their choosing and to bargain collectively are respected.
Risk Management

We undertake risk assessments to identify and evaluate modern slavery risks, including those related to industry, product, geographic location, and supply chain structure.

Supplier Engagement and Standards

We work collaboratively with our suppliers to ensure compliance with our standards and expectations regarding modern slavery risks, including:

  • Ethical sourcing practices, supported by documented commitments.
  • Prohibition of human trafficking, including the recruitment, harbouring, or movement of persons for exploitation.
  • Compliance with all applicable employment and labour laws, including those relating to wages, privacy, immigration, collective bargaining, anti-discrimination, and working hours.
  • Prohibition of slavery, including any exercise of ownership over another person.
  • Prohibition of servitude, where an individual’s freedom is significantly restricted.
  • Prohibition of forced or compulsory labour.
  • Prohibition of forced marriage, including where coercion, threats, or deception are involved.
  • Prohibition of debt bondage; we do not retain or restrict access to employees’ identity or immigration documents.
  • Prohibition of child labour, including hazardous or exploitative work.
  • Prohibition of deceptive recruitment practices.
  • Commitment to maintaining safe and healthy working conditions in compliance with applicable Work Health and Safety laws.
Training and Awareness

We are committed to raising awareness of modern slavery risks through appropriate training and communication within our business and, where relevant, our supply chain.

Grievance Mechanisms

TFBG has a dedicated email address for reporting grievances – esg@thefruitbox.com.au. Suppliers are encouraged to raise concerns, grievances or issues of any non-compliance they encounter.

Remediation

If we identify that a supplier is involved in slavery, servitude, forced or compulsory labour, or human trafficking, whether within their own operations or supply chain, we will take immediate and appropriate remedial action, which may include termination of the business relationship.
